#InTheLightOfRamadan Poem and PROSE by Alfurqan PRESS, Day 17
PREAMBLE
No doubt, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide. It is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and togetherness in the community. It’s however unfortunate that the pandemic which had erupted since few weeks back had prevented our regular communal feasting, prayers and religious gatherings as we’ve been used to in previous years.
While fasting and prayers is being practiced safely at home at the same time with physical and social distancing, it’s imperative that staying connected with the Islamic community can be achieved. In fact, it’s been a success. Programmes are being conducted on social media platforms such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, Zoom, Instagram and YouTube amongst others with either Live or recorded audio and Videos of Islamic Lecturers delivering soul-inspiring lectures to a virtual world. This can only point to something: in 2020, it’s a Virtual Ramadan!
BOTTOM LINE
With the level of sophistication in the world today, technology has redesigned almost everything. All things has virtually gone virtual. Online classes and meetings are way to go. Quranic recitations and competitions, Tafsir and Arabic classes are been taken as a course. All these are blessings to Muslims especially during Ramadan. So, if we cannot have access to gatherings, Iftar, Tafsir Programmes and Lectures, then we could actually make do with the blessing of technology by having a ‘Virtual Ramadan!’
