PREAMBLE

As obtainable from Islamic history, the chain of prophethood spans through:

1. Adam آدَم

2. Idris إِدْرِيس

3. Nuh نُوح

4. Hud هُود

5. Saleh صَالِح

6. Ibrahim إِبْرَاهِيم

7. Lut لُوط

8. Ismail إِسْمَاعِيل

9. Ishaq إِسْحَاق

10. Yaqub يَعْقُوب

11. Yusuf يُوسُف

12. Ayyub أَيُّوب

13. Shuʿayb شُعَيْب

14. Musa مُوسَىٰ

15. Harun هَارُون

16. Dhul-Kifl ذُو ٱلْكِفْل

17. Dawud دَاوُۥد \ دَاوُود

18. Sulayman سُلَيْمَان

19. Ilyas إِلْيَاس

20. Al-Yasa ٱلْيَسَ

21. Yunus يُونُس

22. Zakariyya زَكَرِيَّا

23. Yahya يَحْيَىٰ

24. Isa عِيسَىٰ

25. Muhammad مُحَمَّد

So begins the story of Adam, the first man. Allah created him from a handful of soil containing portions from all its varieties on Earth.  Angels were sent to earth to collect the soil that was to become Adam.  It was red, white, brown, and black; it was soft and malleable, hard and gritty; it came from the mountains and the valleys; from infertile deserts and lush fertile plains and all the natural varieties in between. Hence, the descendants of Adam were destined to be as diverse as the handful of soil from which their ancestor was created; all have different appearances, attributes and qualities.

All of them are prophets but a few are messengers. Yet, they carry the same message of peace to the world: al-Islam! They preach oneness of Allah and admonish their people to follow the path. Till their death, they struggled for Islam and would lead their people to Jannah on the day of recompense.
