Dear brethren in Islam, we are all well-aware about the COVID-19 pandemic that the world is faced with today, and as muslims it’s pertinent that we strictly adhere to all public health directives and regulations provided by the authorized agencies such as the NCDC and federal and state ministries of health.
As a rider to that, we should not overlook the essence and power of dua in this situation. The Dua is the most potent weapon of a believer; it can change our life, our outlook, and our fate. Below is the dua for protection against Corona virus, *all Imams are legislated to teach it to their congregations.*
_*”اللهم إني أعوذ بك من البرص ، والجنون ، والجذام ، ومن سئ الأسقام.”*_
_*ALLAHUMMA INNI AUDHUBIKA MINAL BARSI WAL JUNOONI WAL JUZAAMI, WA SAYYIL ASQAAM*_
*”Oh Allah, I seek your refuge from leprosy, insanity, mutilation and from all serious illness.”*
_The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, *“Verily, Allah sent down the disease and the cure, and for every disease he made a cure. Seek treatment, but do not seek treatment by the unlawful.”*_ In this regard, let us *refrain from using alcohol-based medicine*.
In conclusion, Almighty Allah says in Surah Az-Zumar, Verse 53: *”O ‘Ibadi (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins. Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.*
_May Almighty Allah forgive us our shortcomings and may he shower his protection on us all._
