Respect for parents. 🌹

Allah reminds us clearly:
“And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age while with you, say not to them so much as ‘uff,’ and do not repel them, but speak to them a noble word.”
(Surah Al-Isra 17:23)🌹

Not even a sigh.
Not even a word spoken out of frustration.
Respect here, is quiet.
It is in restraint.
In lowering your voice when you want to raise it.
In choosing gentle words when the heart feels tired.
Ramadan teaches us patience in hunger and thirst.
It also teaches us patience in how we speak especially to those who once carried us when we couldn’t carry ourselves.
Sometimes, honoring parents is simply pausing before you respond.
And choosing mercy towards them.🌹
